Review of [ Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadow ]

The second edition to the sequel Sherlock Holmes (2009) directed by Guy Ritchie. A Game of Shadows set during the late Victorian era starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. They both did an awesome job with the first movie, it’s no different from this sequel. They have both nailed Holmes and Watson’s personality and quirkiness. Now Sherlock Holmes is out to find this previous person of interest from the last movie, his arch enemy Professor Moriarty. Moriarty bent in creating world war for profit selling arms. Having nothing connected to him to convict of the crime, Holmes and Watson are off to solve the case before its to late. I personally feel like there is something missing in the movie; that little extra something that would make think wow. There’s a lot of great action scenes thrown in the movie and an abundant of use of Holmes foresight. For a lot of old school fans of Sherlock Holmes this movie might be a bit too fast paced. It is otherwise an enjoyable movie to watch!

Review of [ Assassin’s Creed: Revelations ]

Finally the 4th installment er… the Assassin’s Creed expansion is out Revelations. I have waited for this game to come out wanting to know what happens next in the series. Having played this game and not played BrotherHood, In my personal opinion strongly suggest you play it or find out in the internet to keep yourself updated to the storyline. One of the most enjoyable things about this game is the open sandbox and the luscious environment. It’s so beautiful that many times I feel as I am in that same era with Ezio and Altair. This game has frequently made me forget my main objectives just because I become immersed into the extras along the way which is really fun. As much as I had a fun time playing this game but there is a lot of room for improvement. This game is plagued with bugs and glitches as if it had caught the Black Plague. This is not just on my PS3 but others with the XBox 360 as well. Some of the extras/challenges in the game leaves you wanting more to be desired. Overall I really enjoyed the game with Ezio doing his Indian Jones thing, reliving Grandmaster Altair’s past, the “WTF!” moment, and Desmond’s revelations.

Review of [ Far Rockaway Skate Park ]

A new addition to the growing skate parks in New York City is Far Rockaway Skate Park. The name itself is self explanatory “Far Rockaway” it’s really far! The bus or train ride along would keep you asking “Are we there yet!? Are we there yet?!”. It’s pretty far not unless you live around the neighborhood. It’s a pretty big park I was expecting it to be small but its definitely twice the size of Maloof (in Flushing) and much bigger then TriBeCa. The park is really nice and chill they have ramps, ledges, four rails, and a 6 set. If your bored with that you can always just take a walk to the beach which is not to far from the park. The only problem I can say is that there is absolutely not thing to eat around there. This is great for the park so when skaters are hungry they would have to leave the park and look for food so it wouldn’t be so packed. If the Aquga, soda ladies are smart they can make a profit out of that. The park is really fun if you could just deal with those problems. Bring your own food, something to drink and your set for an enjoyable in day in Far Rockaway Skate Park.

Review of [ Nikkor 35mm f/2 D ]
The Nikkor 35mm f/2 D a pretty decent prime on full frame dslr, but on a DX format cameras its a nice prime 52.5mm. The disappointing thing about this lens is that it is not as sharp as the 50mm f/1.4 D or new nikkor 35mm DX f/1.8G. Of course stop down to f/2.8 to f/4 you can’t tell the difference as much. While both these lenses have a faster aperture then the f/2 D lens. Why get this lens any ways? Reasons is that your planing to upgrade later or have a full frame DSLR or film. It’s definitely great for me having to switch it out to my D90 to my FM2n. Other purpose but not important is the distance metering if you really need/want it. Also the build quality that your holding something well made. This lens is more of “I want this!!!” kind of feeling or for people that has full frame. Everyone else that has a crop sensor DSLR its way better to go with the 35mm f/1.8 G. It’s cheaper by 1/2 the price of the this lens Nikkor 35mm f/2. In general use this is a great walking around lens smaller then the normal kit lens or even the beast 35mm f/1.4. I really adore this lens it’s compactness and focal length. This a great lens for anyone to own.

Review of [ Batman: Arkham City ]

There are very few games that really catches my attention, but Batman: Arkham City has gotten my attention as soon as I found out this game was coming out! One word I can say about this game is that its EPIC! You don’t have to merely play the previous game Arkham Asylum to really get into playing this game. It would be nice cause you would enjoy the game a little bit more storyline wise. The game controls are a lot more fluid specially the the fighting moves. The AIs are bit more smarter specially in Hard mode or New Game + mode. Warning! This game is not meant to played super fast to get to the story like its predecessor. It has the free roaming game feel which is awesome having all of Batman’s gadgets to beat up evil doers! This game has lots of extras to keep you playing for hours and solving Riddler’s puzzles and extra side missions. The Batman easter eggs are really fun and interesting to find in the game. I also personally love the revamp they did on the character designs! Voice actors was amazing as well, hearing the Joker with his laugh. The music for the game really sets you up to the mood. This is one of the best Batman games I have played, no better yet one of the best superhero games out there. Even The New York Times is raving about it in the art section. Overall its a great gameplay, awesome storyline, and really good replay value with the extras challenge mode and very rewarding easter eggs.
